What\u2019s a user-agent?<\/h3>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]According to Chrome\u2019s <\/span>own documentation<\/span><\/a>:<\/span>\r\n\r\n“The User-Agent string is an HTTP request header which allows servers and networks to identify the application, operating system (OS), vendor, and\/or version of a user agent. Why user-agent reduction<\/h3>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The goal of user-agent reduction is ultimately more privacy for the end user. New limits on much of the passively shared browser data that has long been included by default, minimizes potentially identifying information that may have been used for passive fingerprinting and other purposes.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1681342051517{padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”]\r\n

Kochava next steps<\/h3>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]To ensure no breaking changes are introduced, Kochava will be deploying support updates to improve these new \u201cclient hints\u201d during April and you can expect the clicks where we collect the user-agent and the installs and events our SDK processes will continue to function as you\u2019re used to. Next steps for clients and partners<\/h3>\r\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Advertisers<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nAdvertisers who <\/span>do not use the Kochava SDK<\/b> (where we automatically make calls for user-agent client hints)<\/span><\/i> and instead use our <\/span>server-to-server APIs<\/span><\/a> will need to use the <\/span>Client Hints API<\/span><\/a> to request the OS version and device model, and include those when sending events to Kochava.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe values below must be included with the data in addition to the information you\u2019re already sending, in the following keys:<\/span>\r\n
